MTM introduces the COMBY, its new orbital flying cut off machine.
This is a state of the art solution for cutting heavy section tube, either round or shaped, in carbon and stainless steel, by quick and effective cold saw process.
The range covered by the COMBY series is from 63 mm to 219 mm OD and from 3,0 mm up to 12,7 mm in wall thickness.
The COMBY orbital flying cut off machine uses MTM’s 30 years experience, while exploiting its ingenious innovative spirit:
- The carriage is accelerated by a reliable rack and pinion system, AC or DC driven;
- The cutting process is made by two combined electrical axes, as in milling-machines;
- The cold saw can be operated either by HSS or TCT blades, as in the whole range of MTM flying cut off machines;
-No gap between the two blades, thanks to reduced blade diameter
The COMBY models allow high productivity and low running costs whenever burr-free cut does matter.
First COMBY units are already operating with excellent results.

The requirement to provide increased safety in the automotive as well as in other industries by limiting weight using thinner sections has led to the use of extremely high-yield materials (100,000psi and above) challenging tube manufacturers to the limits of current forming and welding technology. Through extensive R&D and practical experience MTM can offer interesting solutions.
